When I'm installing Windows XP on my comoputer as upgrade on ME or just formatted computer, there is always a FatalError and it complains something about file "E:\I386\ASMS\6000\MSFT\WINDOWS\COMMON\CONTROLS\CONTROLS.MAN". I've also tried to install it from other CD and there is the same problem. I've even tried to put my hard disk to another computer and the same problem always. So is what is this error and do my hard disk cause it or is my hard disk broken? ME works very good in my computer.

Make sure your HDD is not configured with a DDO program. I had a similar issue with a Seagate HDD that I moved from an older machine; finally had to do a low level format to get the DDO off it.
