PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows XP Home
Error Messages:"PNEFL (the network name) is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator (which is myself) of the server to find out if you have access permission. The list of servers for the workgroup is not currently available."

Ok. Let me tell you:

I have a DirecWay satelite system (DW6000) hooked up to a small Windows XP Home Edition network via a hub. The DW6000 modem acts as a DHCP server and so, assigns an IP to each machine on the network. So, I set up each machine to "obtain an IP automatically".

Everybody browse the internet without problem accross the network.

But, when I come to browse the network, I cannot access the "Shared Folders" on each machine, nor the shared printer. I cannot ping each machine. I can only ping the DW6000 modem wich has the IP of 192.168.0.1

Note that the computers are on the same workgroup (PNEFL) and each of them has defferent name. I also enable NetBios over TCP/IP.

But, I cannot browse the network, but the internet works fine. What should I do?

Can you Ipconfig/all for at least 2 or 3 PCs.

1. XP got built in firewall make sure it's disabled.
2. Make sure server service is Running/Started.
3. Enable File and Printer sharing.

Just for jollys, try adding a hosts file on each machine and see what happens. Good luck.
