Good Morning Ladies & Gents,

I recently ran a windows update, the client went through ts standard re-start proceedure, when it came to loging in again i was presented with the follow error message;

"Windows cannot connect to th domain, either the domain controller is down or otherwise unavailable, or because your computer account was not found. Please try again later. If this message continues to appear, contact your system administrator for assistance"

Any ideas? we do not have this issue with any other clients, and the computer account is present in active directory, i have tried re-setting the account but have not found a solution.

Cheers,

Rob Rawlins

As a local machine user, are you able to ping the server?

I have run into this with Win2K clients as well. The fastest way I've found to clear up this up headache free is to remove the computer account from AD. Then disjoin and rejoin the XP client to the domain. In my experience this has worked almost every time. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help guys, if you attempt to login to the domain with the wire disconnected it will alloe you to login working from the cache, once in you can re-connect the network cable and use all the domin facilities, such as internet connection and file sharing.

I think tdenitti has it right, i will just have to remove the computer and re-join it to the domain. (grimice)

Cheers guys.
