Hi:

I have never seen this behavior in Windows XP - when open "My Computer" the regular "My Computer" windows show up. Then I click on my "C Drive" icon. I then get the "Search Results" pop-up window with the search criteria and the other buttons to do a seaech on the C Drive.

Normally I would get the "C:\" window showing the content of the "C Drive". Why is the "double click" on the C Drive icon bringing up the Search Window ? Any insights would be appreciated.

Hi there.
Right-click the drive. Is the 'Search'command in bold text?

MrTBC, Thanks. Yes the "Search" command is in Bold. I am assuming that the default is set to Search Versus Open but I cannot find where the default settings for that function is. Please enlighten. Appreciate it.

Hi there.
If you go to Tools\Folder Options\File Types tab in any standard Explorer window then the settings are here. I'm guessing it's the options for the 'Drive' type.
