Windows Xp Backup Utility to TAPE DRIVE???

Is there any possible way to backup to a Tape Drive in Windows XP? I purchased a server with built in tape drive and put XP on the server cause I really didn't need win 2k server. I'm trying to use Microsoft Built in backup to backup to tape but from what i understand this don't work. Anyone know any solutions to get my data to tape. Don't care what software I use just something that works with XP and tape drive.

Hmm. just wondering, why did you buy a server if you don't need a server OS?????

I *KNOW* for a fact that NTBackup, running under Win@K server WILL back up to tape. I do it every day. In fact I back up everything on 3 servers every day (about 80 gig compressed) using DLT Type II (or whatever it is). Very soon moving to SDLT 320 tape with an OVerland tape library unit.

Other backup software includes ArcServe from CA, or Veritas. Both are fairly expensive if your in a home environment.

In NTBackup, try looking for 'Other Locations' using the wizard. Make sure you have a tape in the tape unit and that it is ready to go. Under 'My Computer'->Manage->Storage, your tape unit should show up. You might be able to schedule a backup there...Or at least let the OS know there IS a tape drive and the tape is ready for use.

I actually did this for a friend, and the reason was that he only needed XP, but he needed a backup solution. So I was under the impression I would order low end server with built in tape drive and then just install XP and use the backup utility.. Well didn't go as planned now hes wondering why we bought a tape drive and can't use it. And hes one of those that its hard to explain to, and basically just thinks i'm an idiot. So I was trying to find solution. I know in older versions of backup you could with 95 and 98, but can't now from what i understand but this doesn't help me!!
