Hi,

I've got a friend that knows just about how to turn his PC on, connect to the net, play games etc. However, his poor PC recently contracted the Blaster Worm Virus and I sorted it out for him. I told him about Windows Updates and when I connected it showed 35 critical updates!

The question I have (I know more than him, but obviously not enough! ;-)) when I started to download these updates after an hour he lost his connection and as it was over a 56k modem, we'd barely scratched the surface for updates. Is there anyway if I download the latest Service Pack and all the other critical updates he needs (I have fast connection at work), burn it to CD ROM and then install it from the disk? Will that work? If not, any other suggestions?

Thanks

Woody

We tend to download all the latest patches and service releases. Then burn them onto a CD. With 350 servers to install the patches on we have found this to be the best method to use.
