I have a SBS2k3. I have verified that the Windows Time Service is up and running and there are no errors in my Event logs.

My server is about 15 min behind the actual time. I thought that this services automatically collects the correct time and adjusts the server's time. then, when the workstations log on to the domain these Windows XP Pro boxes get a correct time from my server. Is this so? If so, why is my server's clock wrong?

I'm verifing the clock from the Atomic clock.

You are correct in that the workstations will get their time from the server. The server needs to be configured on how it will receive the correct time. It can receive from an internal clock or from an external time source. the following should help you out:

AdminGreg - you're defeating a built in feature, and causing excessive NTP traffic.

The server holding the PDCe FSMO role is responsible for providing time services in Active Directory. All 2000/XP workstations will sync with it automatically. Using any other method goes against the way it was designed.

In Small Business Server, the SBS box itself holds the PDCe role. Make sure it's syncing with an external time source, as mentioned in pgaliardo's link to
