Windows Security Center is turned off. Can't be started. 1

Can't get online. Almost all Processes and Services are "Stopped". When I try turning it on I get a window; Windows Security Center
"The Windows Security Center can't be started."

Win Sec Cen is not listed in programs so where did the window come from?

This is a new problem I've never seen before. Love some help is anyone knows what I should do. Restarting in different modes has been tried.

I ran into a problem like this a while ago (on an xp machine) that was caused by the firewall component of Live OneCare. I don't remember the details, but trying to start the services individually might help narrow it down.

The Security Center service should be set for Automatic (delayed start) startup. It should log on as a local service and is dependant on the RPC & WMI services.

See if you can start it manually-- Start, services.msc. Also see if there are any clues in Event Viewer-- Start, eventvwr.msc

Have you tried using System Restore to get back to before your troubles began? If it wont run in Normal Mode try it from Safe Mode or via the Startup Repair option.
