I'd remove windows desktop search too ,6 months ago.
Is it safe to delete Windows Search Service from the Services?

You just uninstall it via add / remove programs, this also uninstalls the service (it'll give you a long list of things it will effect you just click yes i REALLY do want this off my computer)

As I noticed above I unistalled it before and there is no this programm i Ad/Remove list.
Don't know from where this service appear in "Services", because WDS was uninstalled long time ago.
I am afraid to delete it from the "Services" because found in "Windows Search Properties/Dependencies that this device depends on the following system components - "Terminal Service"

As long as it's dependent on TS and not other way around it should be fine. Would be better just to disable it though just in case, that way you can just turn it back on if it has any undesirable results (or use last known good config if it has catastrophic results!!).

Can you not reinstall it then uninstall as it sounds like it hasn't uninstalled properly.

Change it to "Manual", now seems all O.K.
