I have a new Cisco 2801 and I want to allow a few admins to connect to our nt server via remote desktop. I found the other posts on here that were regarding this subject, but nothing worked on mine. I am a command line user normally, but I have started tinkering with the new Cisco SDM GUI on the router. Anyone know how to allow remote desktop through the router? I know you have to nat it to pt3389 and create your acl, but nothing seems to be working for me. Thanks

Why not just setup that 2801 to act as a VPN server and then setup Cisco VPN client on those that need it then simply VPN into the system and then remote to the internal address.

I had not thought of that. I really dont have that much experience with VPN setups. Any advice/direction? example links? THanks for your input.

You will need access to CCO for downloading of the cisco VPN client software. I use this system with a Cisco 831 router and it works great.

Thanks, Ive got that, so I will give it a whirl. I appreciate the help.
