Hello everyone,
I'm hoping this is a simple problem and I've overlooked something.
I have a bog standard Windows NT 4.0 server sp6a high encryption at work, I have set up the PPTP on it and done everything I can think of to give people access to it from home.
I have tested this from home and it works very well, I get the MSCHAPv2 and 128Bit encryption which should be good enough for what I want. The server sits behind a Netgear RP114 where the port 1723 is forwarded to the internal IP address of the NT4.0 machine.
This is all working great, I can map drives, I can connect to our AS400 system, I can ping anything on our network, I can take control via VNC, etc.. but it disconnects after about 5-10 minutes of use. You can reconnect again and its fine, but it keeps disconnecting for some reason?
I'm using a 512k broadband connection at home and it is a 1MB broadband connection at work.
Is it a speed problem? Or something different.
Heres hoping someone can help.
Thanks
Alan Paterson
