I recently loaded WIN 98 to my computer

It starts with the windows 98 startup menu (with the 30 sec. timer to choose between the 3)
the next message is not ready ready dirve A
abort, retry, fail
if i type a for abort windows will load
How can I get windows to load normarlly?
I seems to think that I have a disk or should have a disk in at all time.
Thanks!

Sounds like you still have the emergency boot disk in the floppy.
The boot floppy loader has the 3 item menu, the hard disk loader would have more.

I'm assuming there's no disk in the drive? Click start--run--type msconfig--ok--advanced button--uncheck 'enable startup menu' then ok out and restart. Does that work? If not what's in your autoexec.bat file?
