Greetings all,

Does Messenger on Win XP archive the text messages? If so, where would they be stored at?

Thanks

That option has to be enabled, for Messenger to save the logs...

if it is enabled then look under your "My Documents" Folder, there should be a seperate folder called "My Chat Logs"...

The old XP Windows Messenger did not have any automatic setting to save messages. It was a manual copy and paste job.

If you have Windows Live Messenger then you can set it to save messages.

Windows Live Messenger/Tools/Options/Messages/Message History

It will save them wherever you tell it to, the default is something like this location.

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAMExxxx\My Documents\My Received Files\USERNAMExxxx1196264977\History
