Windows ME startup...hanging up

WinME machine.

Just refomatted and it's hanging up a tad.

after the windows jingle is played and my wallpaper shows up, it hangs for about a minute before my icons and tool bar shows up. I've had this problem before and I forgot the fix for it. Anybody got an idea about the fix for this ????

I've never heard of it, but maybe you need to find out which program is doing it. Type
msconfig
in the Start>Run menu and untick the startup applications one at a time, starting with the programs you know you can do without.

look for a file (hidden), iconcache and delete it, reboot and try

I found ShellIconcache....is that the one you mean ??? That's the only thing that came up
