Windows Me-Freezes.

Hi. I have a brand new PC 1 ghz 128megs 20 gig hd running windows me. It has been freezes since i have installed Web Cam and CD burner software. I have removed both programs and still freeze up at certain points.
I have read other postings, does anyone adding another 128megs will help.

Additional. It is also Freezing up when using internet Service

I have Win ME on an HP 700. My girlfriend has a similar model (HP 667). Hers freezes. Mine does not. Difference. She uses AOL. It only feeezes after exit and running something else like Spider Solitaire, and not right away.

Hanging with AOL is well documented.
Go to Windows site there is a patch for this.
If you can't find it come back and I'll send it to you.
I have AOL too.

When it hangs at other times, do control, alt, delete and shut down the non-responding program. I find ME is good at recovering. Better than 98.

I suggest go into MSCONFIG (start button and run)disable one by one of any thing suspect.Or disable all and start adding them back in.If that don't work do a new clean install and check as you add drivers etc. till it starts acting up.
