Last week I think that I upgraded to Win XP Service Pack 2. Now my Windows Installer doesn't install anything anymore.

Any suggestions?

Right-click on the My Computer icon and select properties, this will confirm the version of Windows you have installed.

The full error message would be helpful in any diagnosis.

Check your Event Viewer for any additional errors.

Two other suggestions:

. Start, Run, msiexec /regserver
Reboot and test.

. Check to see if you have these two settings enabled in Group Policy under Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment:

"Impersonate a Client After Authentication"
"Create Global Objects"

The settings don't seem to show correctly for a Windows XP client...have a look via Group Policy on a Windows 2000 Server if used. In any case, set both to Not Configured.
