Hey, does anyone know how to disable windows file protection in windows 2000 professional, service pack 3? i currrently have the dllcache directory empty, that seems to work, but it is still running.

Actually, this method only works in SP1 of Win2K. I tried. I also tried editing address 6211 (hex) of sfc.dll, which works in sp2. But, neither of these things work in SP3.

Well that's nice to know, Ill look around and see if I can find anything on SP3

its done by hexediting the sfc dll ...
nothing i tried yet cause i simply fear it

actually, if you read my second post, then you would know already that i TRIED editing sfc.dll, address 6211. that is the method for SP2. BUT, it doesnt workon SP3. btw, if you are going to hex sfc.dll, make sure the address initally says what it is supposed to. if not, dont change it.
