Windows Explorer VIEW

The Left pane shows the file hierarchy. The Right pane is "divided" into two parts: one part shows the current folder title (the left side of the right pane), the other part shows the actual FILE VIEW (the right side of the right pane). Now the left side of the right pane is about two and 1/2 inches in length! I really don't even need because the folder is already displayed elsewhere, and the vile attributes are already listed on the right side of the right pane. How do I GET RID of the bloody thing? Are there any Saviors out there? (p.s. also have been unable to decrease its length!)

 
In Explorer, go to Tools -> Folder Options. On the General tab, choose "Use Windows classic folders" under Web View

That should do it
