windows explorer settings are not retained

Hey, Here's the deal. I go into Windows Explorer, View and change so that I see extentions, hidden files, etc. And the settings are not saved. I exit the set-up and still can't see extentions, etc. I go back into set-up and the changes I made were not saved! I have rebooted the server, no better.
