I just installed Windows XP Pro on a Gateway desktop. The problem I'm seeing is that when you open Windows Explorer and select a folder in the left hand window panel it seems to constantly flash, almost like it's trying to refresh the folder list. This is very wierd. I have not yet seen this issue nor heard of it in Windows XP Pro. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thanks

Take down your video acceleration to the lowest setting and see if that cures it, if it does, get a better video card.

My problem with Windows XP Pro on my Gateway® 700X system is this: Windows Explorer will crash when I try to go into certain folders that have graphics files in them... I can't tell how those folders are different from other graphics folders that open normally... tho it seems like it *may* have something to do with total size of items in folder. Some of the graphics are images that I scanned, and some were scanned elsewhere and e-mailed to me.

This crashing can occur after the images have been successfully imported into a layout. And once their home folder has crashed, I usually cannot open the images in any other software, such as Photoshop.

Any ideas?

thanks -
