Here is a strange one that I can reproduce every time on every computer in my network.
In this example we will use P: and W:
p: = \\servername\sharename
W: = DFS ROOT that points to \\servername\sharename
DFS is running on Windows2003 R2
If I turn on the column in Windows Explorer for Owner, the last used owner for the file is shown correctly (IE: ARH-NT\SMITH) for the P: drive. If I browse to W: (DFS of the same directory), then the owner column shows the SID (S-1-xxxxxx) instead of the name.
Any thoughts how I can fix that. Our goal is to remove our drive letters and use DFS so we have the same drive letter in all our offices, but they HAVE to be able to view the owner field.
