Is there a place on the PC that I can delete some of the options displayed by 'Open With' when right-clicking on a file?

I have a entry for Emacs that I want to delete and place a different version of the executable.

Any help will be very much appreciated, thank you.

The 'Open With' list is stored in the windows registry & is specific to each user & file [type] extension. For this discussion, I'll refer to .txt extensions; change to suit your needs. As always - make a backup of the registry before any changes.

In the windows registry, navigate to
Code:
 HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\[!].txt[/!]\OpenWithList.
If you simply want to change one of the existing entries, just double click to edit. There will be some items listed that don't show in the actual 'Open With' menu - I strongly suggest leaving these as is. If you actually delete any of the values in this list, you should probably also edit the MRUList to remove the corresponding 'name' letter.
