Windows Auto update

I have a Windows 2000 Pro Virtual Machine, I have just installed SP4, then connected to the internet to do auto updates.

It goes through until it reaches Security undate KB828741 and just sits there.

When the VM is then restarted it will not run, it gets the the log on screen and keeps rebooting.

Any ideas

is it possible with Microsoft Virtual Machine to simulate an older type PC, so with less CPU power and memory....?
