After using the TS Client we had a lot of printing issues when clients were mapped to network printers. The solution seemed to be to install the Microsoft Remote Desktop client (included with XP) which is available for Win98/NT/2k.
The RDC has some nice features like being able to configure what is downloaded subject to your bandwidth and a nice toolbar that allows you to minimise the session.
We installed in on Windows 2000, we put in the IP address of our server, plus all the login details and it worked very well. We then saved the setting to an icon on the desktop and the user just clicks on the icon as usual.
We tried the same thing for some Windows98 users, but when we are entering the details for the session, the password option is greyed out, this means that the user is prompted for an extra password which just confuses them.
I understand that this problem also occurs on WinNT4 clients.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
