When I bring up the start menu when I have more than one program open, why doesn't clicking on the task bar bring the program to the front, like Windows 95?

It should, GB. As a matter of fact, when I right-click a button on my taskbar, it brings it to the front when all I want to do is close it. It's annoying. Anyway, checked your temp files lately? How are your resources? Run scandisk lately? Let me know if you need help.

It definitely isn't working - I've only had this computer for three weeks. System resources are always a bit low, in my opinion, about 76%. I have run scandisk without incident. The taskbar has not worked properly since I received the computer.
Thanks for the response.
Hit ctrl-alt-del, GB, and let us know what's in there or, if you're feeling confident, hit Start-Run and type in msconfig and hit enter. On the Startup tab, (first, make a note of everything selected) deselect everything and reboot. Do you still have the problem? If not, select one item in the startup tab and reboot. Problem? If not, add the next item in the startup tab and so forth until the culprit is added. Then you'll know which one it is and you can talk to us about it some more.
If you remove everything from there and you still have the problem when you reboot, we'll have to start looking at your autoexec.bat and config.sys files. Of course, you may just want to take it back if you bought it at a store. If not, we might get it taken care of quicker this way.
