Windows 3.11 drivers for a HP940C!

I have an application that relies on DOS printing and is currently running on a Windows 3.11 PC.

I know, I know, its an old system but the company I work for will not replace IT eqiupment until the PC goes boom!!!

I have found a HP Deskjet 940C spare and I wish to print from this application, however I require drivers that will print from Windows 3.11.

Can anyone help?

I know that HP themselves do not support this OS for the HP940C, but does anyone know of any sites where someone has created drivers for this printer.

You can always try the water trick...A cup of water on the old PC. Sorry, I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but you will probably have a hard time finding drivers for this, unless you can find a comparable DOS driver. Have you tried Microsoft, Windrivers? Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Have a nice day!!!

You could also try the "Generic Text Drivers" I fould that these drivers work with numerous printers. Haven't found one that won't accept these drivers. It will give you printing in your W3.xx system for this printer if HP doesn't offer drivers.

Probably just gonna be a trial and error needle in a haystack type hunt through the old drivers to find a compatible one. I'd help that system along to death personally. Or with my own funds go out and spend $20 on a used P2 system. There's places that will gladly allow you to take them off their hands even for free. Time/cost and end result wise just get an old P2 with Win98 on it. You'll even be able to use USB!
