Windows 2K net logon service

A laptop will no longer let a user log on because Net long on service is not running. If you log on as the administrator you can see the service and it is started !

any ideas ?

When you logon as Administrator, have you looked at properties of net logon service (eg, logon as?).

Also note if it's running in a different hardware profile, or dependent on another service that isn't running.....
