Windows 2k advanced server

I am trying to install a Scanner on the USB port of a PC running on Win2k advanced server.
Even after installing the latest drivers the scanner is not accessible ... it is giving me CODE 31 error

Does other USB hardware work OK on that Win2k box? Maybe a BIOS issue???

Does the scanner work OK on another machine?

I have a external IOMEGA 20Gb HDD which is working just great.
The scanner was working good on a Win98 PC, but was on the SCSI port. I have it now on a Win2k advanced server PC, and the system copies drivers, but gives a code 31 error message & the SCANNER LINK TEST thus fails.
