Hi all, has anyone else had trouble distrubuting Arcserve 11 remote agents to Winsows server 2003 SP1 boxes?

I'm testing the new SP1 and have found this to be an issue, it fails with the error "Cannot get any default shared drive on machine machinename". It will however install to any other 2003 box.

I'm not using the Windows Firewall.

Cheers.

From what I understand 2003 SP1 introduces the same security lockdowns as XP SP2 did - plus a little more. I didn't realise 2003 SP1 was already released (ie not still in beta).

Check also you have file and print sharing enabled, and that the ADMIN$ are available on the remote machines.

Yep it went RTM on thursday.

Checked and they are both enabled.

can you browse the machine using \\machinename\admin$ from the machine you are trying to install from ? This is normally the deal - if not if you just run \\machinename or \\machinename\c$ do you get access denied ?

Might also be the RPC reg hack mentioned here :

Yep i can connect to all the default shares, i'll take a look at the RPC link tomorrow.

Cheers.
