This is not a technical issue, I'm just requesting some information from you well informed people about the minimum recommended spec for a server. We have 60 in house users and approx 15 external users who connect via vpn. The server will be the domain controller with seperate servers for exchange and isa. The bulk of the data at present comes in at about 200 GB. The current server is a P4 3 GHz with 1GB RAM and is starting to show signs of slowdown and poor performance. The server was meant to be incorporating the company's business system as well but was unable to cope, so a better server is required - but I dont want to overspec and send the MD reeling. Can anyone suggest a base spec for a similar type situation. Many thanks in advance.
