I have a Windows 2003 server acting as a domain controller.
Each user that authenticates to it needs a CAL.
I am now about to buy a second Windows 2003 server that
will be part of the same domain and have SQL Server 2005
running on it. The new Windows 2003 server will not be domain controller and will just run SQL 2005. I will be buying a SQL Server 2005 processor license.
Do I need any Windows 2003 CALS for users who will access the databases on my SQL Server 2005 machine via ODBC. I don't believe I do but I can't see anything out there that specifically enforces my theory.
Dazed and confused
