Hello,

I was wondering the best hard disk configuration for a file server. It is running Windows 2003, I have 5 SCSI 73gig hard disks and one Perc controller. I am thinking Raid 5 would be best??? but wondered what is the best way split the OS, page file and data.

Thanks

My preference is a RAID 1 array for the OS, and RAID 5 for the storage. That way any page file usage doesn't effect the data stored on the RAID 5 array. OS and the page file can be on the same drive, since once the OS is loaded the only usage is mostly page file at that point.
