Windows 2003 AD Upgrade

I have a NT 4.0 PDC and several NT 4.0 BDC's. If I upgrade the PDC to Windows 2003 AD, can the NT 4.0 BDC's still exist and work without being upgraded?

Yes, the will be acting as plane old BDC's without any of the advantages of 2000/2003 like AD
