I'm getting ready to upgrade my NT domain to an all win2k and am a little nervous about it.

Where can I find the server manager, user manager, for the domain? Will these appear once I upgrade the PDC?

Many thanks in advance!

Server manager and user manager have been consolidated into a tool called Active Directory Users and Computers. You will find this tool, along with other AD snap-ins in the Administrative Tools folder in start, programs once you upgrade and run dcpromo to make the server a 2000 DC.

You can also get to it by going to start, run and typing dsa.msc after the upgrade.

Some other AD snap-ins are:
AD Sites and Services, which is used to tell AD how what your physical network structure is so you can configure efficient replication topologies.

AD Domains and Trusts...used to configure trust relationships between domains.

You will also become familiar with the DNS snapin.

By the way, the shortcuts for AD sites and services and domains and trusts are dssite.msc and domain.msc, respectively.

DNS is dnsmgmt.msc.

Many thanks! Hopefully this will go pretty smooth this weekend.

dsa.msc is AD users and computers
dnsmgmt.msc is dns
winsmgmt.msc s wins
dhcpmgmt.msc is dhcp

etc. etc.
