Hi,
I am trying to install windows 2000 server on pentium 11 desktop pc.
I am having strange problem where after copying the files to disk it starts up and to complete the installation. When it comes back & shows the windows logo and the ticks at the bottom of the scrceen starts increasing. When the ticks reaches to full, then it shuts off and go back to the first screen(the screen that shows up at startup)
There seems to be a loop and does it again and again. I formatted the harddrive during installtion but no use.
Please help.
Thanks

you could have a hardware problem.

try removing all the memory, then retesting with just one RAM at a time.

also, remove all unneccesary hardware (pci cards etc).
you can put them back in once installed.

Aftertaf
We shall prevail, and they shall not

It has dual process( 2 pentium chips), Should I remove one of them?
Thanks

You can, it should operate normally with one.

I had the same problem, and after formatting and reloading the OS again it worked. Just a quirk I guess.
