Here is my configuration:

Server:
Windows 2000 Server
2 NIC.. 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.1.1

Clients:
Windows XP Pro.

Problem:
Each card represent a section of the network. Everything works fine! Clients are logged to the domain. But, suddenly, 2 of 3 times a day, the domain stops responding. I can ping every PC on the network from everywhere, but if I try to go to \\192.168.0.2, I have a blank page. I should have all my shared directories. If I try to browse the network on a client, I got an error when clicking on the domain icon. It says that the domain doesn't exists or that I don't have access to this resource. If I reboot the server, everything is ok.

Someone have an idea?

Thx.

try changing one of the nics to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.2, depending on wich NIC you want to leave unchanged. A+, MCP, CCNA

That happens to me also... but the only thing I did is to change my network cable...

You should bind your Gateways with your server e.g.
if you are a client of Class C 192. series.. and your i.p is 192.168.1.5 or something like that then you must add gateway in your Network Connections "Local Area Connection" Properties in TCP/IP.
also Add DNS and click on advance for adding gateway and DNS to your client computer for XP and 2000 Professional.

Then it will work and you will be able to BROWSE EVERY THIN YOU WANT.. AND Don't forget Subnet 255.255.255.0 for 192 series o.k

JUST ADD GATEWAY OF BOTH NIC CARD OF YOUR SERVER IN TO YOUR LOCAL AREA CONNECTION PROPERTIES OF TCP/IP AND IN ADVANCED FUTURE WHERE YOU CAN LOCATE DNS ALSO ADD BOTH I.P THERE. SO THAT YOU CAN LOCATE YOU NETWORK WHEN EVER YOU BROWSE AND DON'T FORGET 255.255.255.0 IS UR SUBNET MASK FOR 192 SERIES

O.K :)
BA BYE.. AND ENJOY
