Hi People!
New on here and new to IT. One of those cases where a little info is dangerous!! I work for a charity and our HDD on our server is giving problems. It stops and it "sounds" very rough. I decided to make a copy of my HDD onto a new HDD using Acronis True Image Server 8.0 for Windows as I have previously used the software successfully for my own PC at home. When I came to try and use the new HDD this is what happened:
I put the "new" HD back, and tried to start my PC. The pc went thru all the usual, then loaded Windows, finally coming to the Windows 2000 Server Screen. Then it "hung" for about 3 minutes and the blue screen appeared and this is the EXACT message:
***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xEB81F84C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
If this is the first time you have seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check for viruses on your computer. remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.
Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.
Refer to your Getting Started manual for more information on tropubleshooting Stop errors.
Can anyone help me out on this? New HDD is a 80GB, Old one is a 40GB and there is about a 3 year age difference so I assume they aren't the same!
