Hello,
I took our NT PDC offline and replaced it with a Windows 2000 server PDC. Created user accounts, and security groups.

I also have 2 NT servers running as file/apps.

I assigned users to the security groups, then assigned the files/folders with the correct security groups.

All the permissions are setup correctly, but the client (Win XP) cannot access the folders for which I am permitted to.

Did you upgrade NT to W2K and migrate your users / groups or did you build the AD domain from new and create new users / groups from scratch? If created from scratch, are your clients using these new logons or still trying to use the old ones (possible as even though the NT PDC has gone as cached credentials would still let your clients logon with their old logons).

Cheers, Antony

Yes, I created the AD from new, but I noticed that all the shares on other servers had become unknown. Therefore I took ownership of all shares, and allocated the correct shares. It works now.

Thanks
