I am trying to add the Active Directory Schema add-in to my MMC so that I can actually see the Operations Manager to allow the server to extend the schema.

However, to do that Microsoft tell me I must install the Windows 2000 Server Admin Tools which I will find on the Windows 2000 server CD. Well sadly, they are not on the 2 copies of the CD I have.... unless I am blind, which I have been acused of being in the past.

I have tried looking at microsoft's website to see if I can download them/it but I can find nothing.

Help!?!

Phil

Depending on your workstation (XP or Win2kpro), you should look for the adminpak file. I don't know why you can't find it. I just installed it for my Win2k Pro workstation before, and then downloaded the adminpak for 2003 when I upgraded to XP Pro. Check again your CD.

It should be found on W2K Server CD in the root of the i386 folder. It is called ADMINPAC.MSI. You can copy it to a network share on the Domain controller and publish it as a Group Policy Object. You can then install it from add/remove programs in control panel.

The file is on the server CD and also in the system32 directory of any 2000 server. Also, the file is called adminpak.msi

ah! that explains it, I was looking for something in a folder of its own. Thanks.
