When adding a Windows 2000 Server as a domain controller you must have DSN installed? This is to a existing domain. Correct!!

You can't have a domain controller without dns installed.

Hi!

This was my doubt too.

I have no machines connected to my server (yet) and my server isn't connected to the internet. I just want to start a domain, and then I will add computers to it. When I try to install and configure DNS in my server it tries to reach some network location. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
jm

Are you sure it isn't asking for a name for your new domain? Some more details would help. Check out this faq.
