Hello

I tried to re-install the windows 2000 in my laptop. I am getting an error message. (It was working before)

"Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer. Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly connected to your computer, and thay any disk-related hardware configuration is correct. This may involve running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup program.

Setup cannot continue. To quit setup, press F3."

Can some one please help me to solve this problem

Thanks in advance.

If you look in the BIOS does the drive show up correctly?

If you have a Win98 boot disk you could boot with that and see if it can see the drive, this will tell you if there is a hardware problem.

Thankyou for your immediate reply.

I looked in the BIOS and in the primary hard drive it is showing None.

what should I do?

You could try to get the BIOS to autodetect to disk. If that doesn't work it might be worth disconnecting the drive and reconnecting it, it is possible that a knock might of unseated it.

If that doesn't work it's possible the drive has failed and it's just coincidence that it's while you are trying to reinstall Windows.

Good suggestion. i will look into it.

Thank you very much.
