windows 2000 professional Blue Screen

The message:

8042D70C base at 80400000, datestamp 39760637-ntoskrnl.exe

keeps coming up , I don't know what to do. I uninstalled the hardware last installed(hpscanner) and removed some of the software but I get the message saying the windows installer is not installed when I'm in safe mode and I'm trying to remove the HPProscan software. help?
