Please Help.
My PC won't restart automatically since I upgraded from Windows 95 to Windows 2000 Pro.
After I click on restart Computer, the cursor sits in a blank black screen, I always have to hold down the power button for 5 or more seconds to turn it off, then turn it back on.
If anybody has a solution, please share it.

Thanks

Hello mrdee1205!

Have you got the latest driver for the video card? That can sometimes stop the computer from restarting and shutting down properly.

I have also seen this happen and I had to upgrade the bios.....

Hi Mrdee1206..i had a similar prob when i 1st installed Win2k, turned out that if i had anything except my anti virus program on or running in my system tray it wouldnt shutdown or restart. so what i did was made sure all programs i installed would not be in my startup folder and that before i shutdown/restart that any thing on in my system tray was off before doing so. hope this works for ya.
