hi,

i already backup a windows-server (2000) to my solaris-networker, now i want to backup a new additional server.... but i get error messages:

ERROR: Access Violation: unknown host <ip-adr>
cannot open backup session with <server_name>

i already set up an client.... did i forget something? its long ago i did this for my first server. :(

Thanks for help/tipps in advance

Guido

ok. got it. reverse-lookup failed ;) :(

In your /etc/nsswitch.conf for hosts: do you have 'dns files' or 'files dns'?

If it is the first, check your DNS server to make sure the new client and IP address defined. If it is the 2nd, in your /etc/hosts add the definition. Test it out by using a command line 'savegrp -pvvv -c sever_name -G group_name ...'
