Turn off the auto restart on system failure first, that should let you see a BSOD with atleast some information on what is happening.

Right click My computer, select properties, advanced, startup and recovery. Under system failure uncheck the automaticly restart.

Post back here what error your getting. As for the sound card it sound like you have the wrong driver or need to reinstall it.

Also, another spot to check for information on any system errors is in the Event Viewer, that should give you a text based exportable copy of whatever is causing the problem.

Just a bit confused please confirm you are now running SP2 under XP Pro and that Home has been removed. Your specs show Home and you start your post "I have winxp home on the system I bought xppro with service pack 2 already on it and wiped my drive clean and put winxp pro on it."

C-Media AC97 Audio Device, enter the Device Manager and try this after checking for any updated XP SP2 drivers with the manufacturer. If no new drivers are located still try the following.

Error 10 - This device cannot start. (Code 10) Device failed to start. Click Update Driver to update the drivers for this device.
On the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooting wizard.

XP SP2 has its own Winsock fixer built in which may fix your Internet error. Run the following from a command prompt.

netsh winsock reset
