What i have going on is this. when i open IE, it will open with a maximized window. however if i right click on a link and choose "open link in new window," it will never open to a maximized window. i find that i constantly have to maximize the window myself. how can i make this window open maximized without dragging the window to fill the screen (faking that it's maximized). thanks for all the replies in advanced.

Look at the buttons at the top right of the window. to the left of the X you will see a button with 2 overlapping windows. Click it.
IE will reduce in size. Make it full screen by dragging and resizing, Not by using the maximise button.
Close IE.
Open it again and it will be full screen and open in new will be too.

Thanks, that worked fine.

One point to note. When I tried it, it only worked when I closed the other IE windows and made the change on the 'root' window.

Thanks for the suggestion but i do not want to make it full screen by dragging and resizing. i want to make use of the "Maximize" button. why won't it stay maximized? My first window will stay maximized but if i open a link in another window, it will never stay maximized.
