I hope someone can help.I recently upgraded a computer(Toshiba Sattelite 1555cds) to win98 SE and I have lost sound drivers.I can not seem to get a driver anywhere or even find out what the brand of soundcard is installed on the machine/It is a laptop and I called Toshiba they say they cant(wont help) because I did the upgrade.I do not have any original software or boot disks for the computer so I can not re-load 98 orig..Can someone tell me where I may find a driver that will work?

Thanks! Susan

I tried that driver to no avail..I will however try it again..Maybe I had a bad download...Thanks for the help either way!

Once you download and run the .exe file, are you going into Device manager and updating the driver for your soundcard??

Have you installed directx drivers too? Start>Run DXDIAG
Are U getting a yellow "!" OR "?" in device manager?
ControlPanel>Multimedia>Audio Tab>Play...choose soundcard from dropdown menu and tick "Use only preferred devices"...
Fwiw.,How's about that ever elusive "volume" control.?.[bigsmile]

Thanks everyone!...Ended up that I had to get a new boot disk for the web and reload/previous load did not for some reason or another load the sound card.It is now working.
I ran dxdiag from the run window and found that no soundcard was loaded.(bad boot disk)...I thank you all for your help!...Have a great day!
