I have a problem with 2 remote Win98 users connecting over DSL using Sonicwall Client software connecting through a Sonicwall firewall (hardware & software) to Exchange 5.5 server. They can connect to the network and can open their email (they are using Outlook 2000). In some cases they can reply and send new mail, however they cannot access calendars or send attachments. They get the message "network problems are preventing connection to the Exchange server". I have other Win98 clients who are not having a problem.
I have reinstalled and reconfigured Outlook, changed the RPC binding order so that tcp/ip is first, set up LMHOSTS and HOSTS files, set the default Maximum Transfer Unit to 1460 on the adapter. I can't figure what is causing this error message when there is connection created.
Has anyone had this problem or any suggestions as to cause or resolution? It would make for a much happier holiday if I could solve this.
