Win98 SE Explorer Conflict

My windows 98 2nd edition explorer has started running AOL 5.0 and itself at the same time? I have reloaded AOL over itself, doesn't fix it. Is there a way to install explorer over itself or edit the registry to solve this? I don't want to re-install Windows over itself if possible.

Are you talking about internet explorer or windows explorer?

It was my windows explorer. I finally figured it out by removing AOL as my default browser, it can be insiduous in it's wanting to control everything sometimes. Thank you anyway.
