I have an alcatel modem connected to my Win98 (2nd edn) machine which seems to connect. (ie the two little icons appear and the modem has the two green lights on too)
However I can't view anything in Internet Explorer. Any ideas?

First thing to check is if youreceived an IP address.
Start - Run - WINIPCFG
See if there is a valid IP address and Default gateway. etc. The solution is out there. [morning]
